Tim Hortons' The Away Game

The Away Game is a three-minute film that captures a trip across continents and cultures as it tells the story of hockey’s unlikeliest team. The film tells the story of the Ice Lions – Kenya’s first and only hockey team. As much as the team loved the sport, they had nobody else to play. Tim Hortons, a Canadian company with a longstanding relationship with hockey, heard about the team and immediately wanted to help by bringing them to Canada to play a game in the home of hockey.

When they arrive in Canada, the Ice Lions are taken to a rink where they’re given brand new official team jerseys, equipment, and two surprise teammates – NHL all-stars, Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon. Overwhelmed with excitement and emotion, the Ice Lions hit the ice and revel in a game with two of its greatest players as teammates.
